I looked this up because I was curious, and it apparently happened at a Senate hearing about the safety of chemical abortions (or abortion drugs).

I can only assume the hearing was convened so Republicans can attack abortion, and this OB/GYN was present as an expert witness to ostensibly defend it.

But more than making her sound retarded, Hawley (maybe accidentally) made it clear that she is willing to mince words when it came to medical issues where the science wasn’t ideologically convenient. 

So why should anyone take seriously anything else she has to say about, for instance, the topic of the hearing which is the safety of abortion drugs? She’ll clearly say what she thinks will provide cover for “her team”.
