to prevent the Amella Problem, the UK government just would've had to make one change:
the protagonist realizes too late that he should be questioning why he himself gets in trouble but Amelia is always fine to continue to share this rhetoric
Amelia is a fed, planted in college to root out problematic people
- government is portrayed as effective at enforcement and all-knowing
- sows distrust among people who might share such rhetoric with each other
- Amelia betrays you so she's no longer desirable
