Where was all this Canadian energy leading up to the election?

IMHO It's a catastrophic misunderstanding of what voting even is, to think that you should only vote if you like a candidate. Someone is going to win the election, whether you show up or not. Often times that means putting your ballot on the scale for a lesser evil, and not an affirmative good. If you don't like your choices, then work and/or vote to try and create a better choice for yourself next time. But at the end of the day, on election day there are names on the ballot and one of them is going to be making decisions on your behalf. If you abstained from voting, then in your own small way you helped elect the winner. You decided you were fine with either of them winning. That's the inconvenient truth. 

And it also needs to be noted that a lack of engagement in voting is a reason why the choices are so shit to begin with. People lament having two bad choices, without mentioning they were AWOL when the primary was happening and INSERT PROGRESSIVE CANDIDATE HERE lost to the establishment choice.

Sometimes doing what you need to do is a chore.

Americans, and everyone else (site admins included lol) read this. Read it twice. Advocate. Us Canadians do "ABC" often.
