Guess we missed this due to not stalking enough:

Breaking my vow of silence for this post. The bsky folx have the capacity to understand that RE is losing users and driving potential new users away but come to the completely asinine conclusion that it’s because that forum is actually NOT welcoming to trans weirdos enough. You can’t make this shit up 

They are just fine with ERA being a platform solely for a group of insular, aging, and try-hard communists/socialists Millennials with arrested development. A lot of these are people hitting their 40s, still living at home with their parents, accomplished little in life, and still bitching about GamerGate 10+ years later. These people have nowhere else to go, really. Which explain why they bitch endlessly about how shitty ERA is and how it isn't "safe" but never actually leave.

The aging userbase also explains why so many of them hold utter contempt for Gen Z and younger hence all the Gen Z hate threads that just post slop articles calling them variations of 'evil far-right incels manchildren'. Not-so-subtly projecting their own personal failures on the next generation because all they consume is ragebait that reinforces their biases. 
 
Hell, the main reason why RE is so against social media restrictions for teens and younger are because they see social media as the only avenue for resources/grooming trans young people into the same failure lifestyle that they're in.
