Let Me In. There was a lot of snobbery when this was released. People said it was only made because Americans are too dumb and lazy to read subtitles. TBF it came out very quickly after Let The Right One In, and if you didn't know the source material it would be easy to view it as a lazy cash grab. But it isn't. In fact, I'd say it does a few things better than the first. The character building is better. Bullying is a major part of the book and this goes into that a lot deeper. The relationship between Abby and her helper is more fleshed out. There's also a couple of smart twists and little updates in there. There are still major plot points, characters and things missing. It's understandable why there's certain areas neither film wanted to touch. I remember reading one part and thinking, fucking hell that's a bit strong. This kind of goes near it but does a good job of providing an alternative. I'd recommend watching Let The Right One, reading the book, then watching this.
