It's also funny because most of the time they accuse these people of having been landlords or whatever, but the problem with that is if all your wealth is tied up in land you can't take it with you when you leave because the state's going to seize it. Who are they supposed to be cashing out this land to while fleeing?
Often these online "leftists" act as if wealthy people just have bank accounts with large numbers in them, or Scrooge McDuck vaults, rather than how wealth really works. Brianna Wu is one of my favorites at believing that say, Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos, just has a single checking account like Wu does only with a bunch more zeroes in it. This is also why they think they can expropriate Tesla or Amazon or Microsoft and instantly have all its "value" as spendable cash. They don't get that it's an estimate, not actual money. And that when you seize it, it drops to zero because the value comes entirely from other people thinking they can buy it. An endless churning of people committed to:
