The original version of Fortnite, that was initially the only version announced at all, is finally being dumped as F2P too:

It's wild to see this finally going F2P; if BR wasn't making as much money as it does, this would have been sunsetted 2 years into its life. Instead, it's turned into a portal, but the original experience can't be abandoned. 

Unless April 16 version has a MAJOR overhaul, new users will be astonished at how backward and confusing the StW interface is.
