If the study is trustworthy it completely annihilates the common argument people have used on parents. "Do you want a trans daughter or a dead son?" Now it seems like transitioning either doesn't help them at all or might make them actually more suicidal.

Something that should have been obvious from having a lifetime of mandatory medicalization that does nothing to address the issue and the fact that no studies had ever shown the opposite. It was always a claim based on a rhetorical threat and/or wishes.

And anecdotally, every famous example was someone who only got worse.
