This place feels like a purgatory for geriatrics who haven’t yet transitioned from old internet to new internet.

Oh, 100%. I'm very aware I'm a dinosaur and the meteor could show up at any moment.

For me, reddit mostly sucks outside of very specific subreddits and communities. For gaming things, REEE and GAF are both FUBAR for various reasons. I'm too old for discord. 

I just need a decent place to laugh at stupid, self-important people and get gaming news. The Bore was pretty much the last bastion for me. I've mostly transitioned into a grass toucher now but I like to come back once in a while.
