like what does it actually accomplish in practical terms to decisively determine that something isn't your fault, are you going to get awarded something for that? or are you just gonna move on with your life like you would've anyway?

it's not a court of law where they say "officially all these problems are Molly's fault, Malds is awarded $15,000 for pain and suffering"

you get nothing either way, so you better behave as if it's your fault and pick up the pieces yourself, because nobody else is gonna do it for you
You can see this all over places like Bluesky, Twitter and Era. A belief that there's some higher power that is supposed to handle things, like a teacher or parent. (Or cops.) They're always yelling that "someone" (else) needs to do something about whatever. It's funniest when they talk international politics and so always say "the world" needs to be doing this or that they want against USreal. Indeed you saying that nobody's going to do it for them is just proof that this person needs to exist.

It's probably just stark because it's not normalized like people talking about God and it's ruder to say "there is no God" to that than point out these other things don't exist. At which point they usually turn to demanding violence, often by the state. Shreds is constantly demanding communism because he thinks it means he'll be able to not work and spend other people's money on toys.
