I enjoyed Mortal Kombat 2 well enough. Of the current wave of videogame movies, I think this one is the best. 
 
Johnny Cage and Kano should have a buddy comedy film to their own.

I read that they did the reverse of the old Mortal Kombat 2 movie.

where in that they kill Johnny Cage at the start. Here they kill the new main guy from the first movie to make Johnny Cage the lead.

Yeah, they killed off the OC protagonist from the first movie by having Shao Kahn smash his face in with his war hammer and then using the hammer like a broom to sweep his body into the acid pool stage fatality. It was hilarious.
