Absolutely valid questions. SBS is government funded and estimates is all about examining how they are spending their budget. If the jury selection was not transparent, balanced and featuring a broad cross-section of Australian society, then I want to know why. Taking a cursory look at the names, I'd say there was very little attempt to select anyone that stepped outside the usual lefty performing arts bubble.

FACT CHECK: The only valid question is why is Australia allowed a ballot in Eurovision.

FACT CHECK: Any broadcaster that is an associate member of the EBU is allowed to compete.



Participation since 1956:
Entered at least once
Never entered, although eligible to do so
Entry intended, but later withdrew
Competed as a part of another country, but never as a sovereign country
