As a non-yank, every year I'm confused about the concept of Pride Month. Is it really something people celebrate outside of ad campaigns on twitter and bluesky? Do the gays really have more butt sex in June? Do people really wear the rainbow stuff sold at Target and Walmart? Is it like a continuous carnival or gay Ramadan? 

Here were just have a pride parade weekend sometimes during the summer and that's it. We've adopted your Black Friday for reasons, but the Pride Month stuff has never really caught on.

It's more like a month where ironic news stories happen and foolhardy commenters say things on today of all days
