The fact that the murder happened is tragic. The fact that there was a circumstance in which that could even come to pass is tragic, and all of that is a reflection of systems that allowed that circumstance to be possible. And so, you know, I have always focused my attention on  how do we create systems where that's not even the possibility.

This is the very much the progressive position, that everything is the result of a human-created system. So you can theoretically have a system where murders don't even happen, you just have to find it. Gender, scarcity, violence, etc. are all just manifestations of the systems. They fundamentally believe there are no limitations on humans, that it's only a matter of the will to achieve it.

Your refusal to accept a world where anything is possible is you running defense for the status quo versus imagining what is possible.
