There is some truth to this. It's kind of funny that no one really thought about what happens after you break the stereotype so they just continue breaking the same stereotype

I've wondered how often you show all this stereotype-breaking stuff to little girls and they just completely reject it

"I don't want to go on a big adventure, I want to look at cute guys and raise a baby"

like genuinely, has the rhetoric worked on anyone? are there now throngs of girls out there who refuse to go anywhere near the barbie aisle in the store, and demand a toy monster truck and a plastic sword?

Referring back to my post about the belief that everything is imposed systems, there's often a refusal to understand that many stereotypes don't come from nowhere. That bigots just made them up and spread them around until people accidentally started believing them. The problem with stereotypes is assuming that it applies to all individuals not that they may be accurate to characterize a group that matches it. A lot of these progressives operate on the belief that if anyone conforms to the stereotype it's a problem and people need to be changed to eliminate the stereotype. That's not possible so the fall back is to simply insist that nobody be allowed to voice any about groups they like.

Except this defangs their "critique" so they have to continue an endless war against hypothetical ones they insist that nefarious forces out there hold and continue to impose on us. Even when it's near impossible to demonstrate this is actually the case.

And since it's all ad hoc, and to go back to another earlier post, you basically have people pretending they need to push this "women can be anything they want" anti-stereotype against a culture that has long since abandoned the opposite at the same time they make it off limits to apply this towards any culture that continues to enforce limited and specific women's roles because Westerners are only allowed to criticize Western culture or else it's colonialism.

One reason the trans = misogyny stuff so clearly does not get traction is because people don't actively realize how much the West has broken a lot of those gender things purely by casual acceptance even as it's all around them, similarly how same sex marriage went from the most important thing to where Obama had to pretend to be against it to majority accepted by Republicans. Now we're reintroducing those bigotries under the guise of fighting against stereotypes people remember but haven't actually strongly held for a while because everyone interprets social change purely through the lens of the Civil Rights Movement vs. Massive Resistance. The "good guys" would never traffic in harmful stereotypes themselves, even though they always have. Abject racists who didn't believe Black people could live in American society and against race-mixing were also against slavery and for civil rights. If you assume the good guys aka progressives are simply free of bias/stereotypes/bigotry then it's not going to occur to you that trans people are people trying to literally reify harmful misogynist stereotypes and impose them onto a culture voluntarily moving away from them. That's something only a "conservative" trying to hold back civil rights would do. 

The abolitionists who considered Black people to be literal equals were such a niche that they never could have abolished slavery, especially not when it was abolished, yet slavery still got abolished well before hardcore white supremacy ceased being the dominant belief. Social change isn't achieved via millenarianist prophecy, no matter how many "experts" insist it solely is.
