Parenti is maybe most famous for arguing that everything the Soviets did to their own population was justified to defend itself from the capitalist threat and that Milsoevic was framed for genocide due to daring to stand up against Western imperialism.
The election one is actually an old one, there was a large strain of the left who believed that submitting to elections inherently reduced the revolutionary potential and thus automatically pushed any left-wing group to the right. See Reformism and later, social fascism. As a result, the only way to maintain ones leftism was to only pursue the violent revolutionary overthrow of society.
I've seen better ones so I can't give this "in this house" sign higher than a 7/10.
