honestly you're right, I also watched Man's Best Friend, the episode that got them banned, and I was like god this is so boring and uncreative

whatever story and dialogue is present happens really slowly and spaced out and the whole thing is just an excuse for very extreme facial expressions and exaggerated animation

which makes sense, john k was always focused on the animation side, but trippy melting faces aren't enough to justify the whole thing

The four good minutes of Ren and Stimpy rule tbf

Makes you appreciate how well beavis and butthead and king of the hill hold up

Rocko's Modern Life is basically the only Nicktoon that holds up. Angry Beavers is close. Somebody could probably make a case for Ahh Real Monsters and Hey Arnold but I haven't watched either since. There were no Nicktoons ever made after that, CatDog was just an April Fools joke that never had any actual episodes.
