The guy called. It's literally as I predicted. They merged 6 tech companies. The founders of those cashed out. They have a managing director who travels between the 6 offices but they lack someone to manage the wfh division of 40 mostly female engineers. Plus the managing director is more a technical director so they need someone wth more commercial vision and skills.
He send me over the full details and wants to know if I want to meet the CEO. He thinks it's a great match and this hiring process would be finished by august.
