This phrase is offensive to myself on a deep level, yes, but it is also inaccurate in a way that is harmful. Same with using the phrase "trans-identified male" which media outlets across the pond seem to be adopting en masse.
Gender is different than sex -> Sex is impossible to determine -> Gender and sex are the same -> Sex IS possible to determine but I'm not sure how (perhaps via blood and endocrine systems, but not cocks and balls and certainly not by DNA, you neanderthal!)
