Some streamers forming parasocial bonds with largely underaged or underdeveloped fans to then monetarily exploit is what it is. As I understand it, it’s common to tip or gift money to streamers for a shout out. At least you’re getting empty calories in this exchange. But unless you do away with the way it all operates, the system is ripe for exploitation. I think so, anyway. This is all second and third hand accounts. This stuff didn’t really exist in my day. Maybe giant bomb? But those guys had jobs and weren’t dependent on begging for donations. Speaking of, that Rami guy was on giant bomb sometimes and seemed like a wanker.
