This has been quite informative to watch. The initial communist/marxist/leftist/etc reaction to the attack was a collection of jokes and support for the glorious comrades starting the revolution. Then as more details came out suddenly the goal posts were moved, and maybe all those people didn't get killed or maybe it's all fake or maybe nobody got sexually assaulted. Every week they move further and further into the camp of either "it didn't happen" or "if it happened, it doesn't matter because of context." As someone who can't stand Israel...good luck with that argument brehs. It's a bad look and is idiotic.
Bigger thing is that it shows that all the "believe women" and "words are violence' and "safe space" and all that stuff were largely just window dressing. These people are more than willing to ignore or dismiss violence against women if it suits their agenda. So why take them seriously on anything else. You've got college kids saying indiscriminate murder and violence is ok when aimed at occupiers and colonialists, oh and the US shouldn't exist btw. They're literally telling you what they believe and what they'd have no problem justifying if it happened to you.
The good news as I've said before is that these people are pussies. They aren't picking up guns or bombs, they're posting on the internet. And boycotting things that are bulletproof, like Starbucks. It's the perfect example of leftist politics: disorganized, ineffective, and ugly. And boy will they be shocked and mad when Biden wins next year.
It's like they're terrified that if you acknowledge the horrific crimes Hamas has committed you can't call out Israel anymore for bombing children. Turns out you can call both of those things bad.
But I think it might even go deeper. Like they're scared of the idea that being oppressed doesn't automatically make that group of people inherently good and moral.
I've seen a tweet where someone said that accusing Hamas of rapes only furthers islamophobic colonialist stereotypes and it's just so absurd to me. Do you know what furthers that stereotype? Hamas soldiers invading small villages, killing everyone in there and filming themselves how they're dragging away women who are kicking and screaming.
It's like we should not talk, or even better, just deny these things happened so we don't have to have any complicated feelings about morality
