You can see the spots in the initial voice over where he hurriedly scribbled in synonyms for proper nouns in his rejected Star Wars pitch.
Russian uniforms for the baddies instead of Nazi ones was, arguably, the one close-to-clever production decision.
Everything else is classic Snyder: meaninglessly slow-motion and/or speed-rampedshots, depth-of-field abused like a fat man at a buffet brunch, and so many layers of particle effects that it's amazing AfterEffects didn't crash.
