What does POC mean anymore. It used to be non-white. Then they started the dumb BIPOC thing to separate black and nebulous ideas of indigenous. Then brown became a thing classifying shades from South American to Laos. Now East Asians aren’t defined by POC? Who fits these days? Skeeter?

It seems to me, the differentiation started in earnest in the discussion about reparations (US, obvs) when people decided they didn't want to split their hypothetical share with like, a recent somalian refugee (who obviously had a racist free life), or other immigrants who came with nothing and made something of themselves, but also couldn't really justify native americans as being less historically fucked over in the US than other groups.
