Miss Germany isn't just uggo by German standards but also Iranian standards. There are plenty of Persian hotties that don't look like they just blew a trucker behind a McDonalds without prior cookie consent.

The whole event apparently tried to reinvent itself where it's less about appearance and more about what kind of political activism the candidates are involved in. Though I never really get the point of trying to reinvent something this drastically as it's bound to just mostly piss people off.
Like if you don't want to host a beauty pageant then just don't host a beauty pageant. Don't take the name of a beauty pageant and add a tiny footnote that it's actually not about beauty
