Aware this is racist or whatever, but I really wish Amazon let you filter all the Chinese companies selling cheap shit from aliexpress and the like.

Not racist. Amazon search is unusable. Unless I know exactly what I'm looking for or someone links me direct to a product, I can't find anything on there.

It can be extrapolated to all the internet. But a good 95% of results are noise. Listing upon listing of the exact same item poorly photoshopped on a stock photo. All reviews are bots or people given the item for free.

In some instances when I bought from one, I’ll check my order history and the company and seller is gone.

google and youtube are both just astonishingly bad

I remember when I used to search for something like a specific piece of gaming music and I would get 30 uploads of it, which actually mattered because some would be short, some might be longer and looped, some might be of poor quality and then I could try the other options for higher quality

now I get 4 results, one of them may or may not be the song, one will be a shitty cover of it, one will be gameplay of the game and the last one will be totally unrelated, and then it splits off into a new section of further related results none of which are related in any way

or I could search for specific game screenshots or sprites on google and get dozens of examples of what I wanted, and now I get one, plus a bunch of completely unrelated pics nowhere near what I was looking for

I just don't get how this happens

is it old sites dying, so all those old random pages of "my favorite video games" full of screenshots are now gone, and copyright takedowns for the music youtube used to be filled with? or is it all still out there somewhere and just un-findable now because they fucked their search?
