I disagree insofar as outsider savior stories are about the outsider joining the native population to repel other outsiders. Even the popular examples people whine about follow that pattern. This is an outsider slaughtering the native population, and I don’t think Ubisoft deserves the benefit of the doubt to say this is unambiguously a bad thing. That this is how they’re selling it says everything. Like Sniper Elite marketing how you can shoot Nazi testicles, here they’re selling that you can brutalize Japanese men and crush their skulls.
