I'd have to look at those other "grassroots movements" but I almost guarantee that this will be the same situation for every single one.
You can form a non-corporation group or charity all you want, it just won't be tax-deductible to donate to it, and all these progressive groups against greed really want to make sure your tax money isn't going to the government they advocate for over themselves.
