I'll take a risk here by self-identifying as mostly a libtard.
It's just insane to me that stuff like the image above sprung from something that--IMO--was broadly palatable and not entirely unreasonable.
rewind 20 years and the conversation was about biases you pick up naturally from being part of any normal community: you don't eat raw fish much in rural Kentucky, so when you travel abroad and see it being done regularly and casually, you're naturally like "holy fuck, what are these DEMONS eating?!"
So the rule of thumb was every time you felt that initial kick of WTF, check yourself. That logic can be carried across all of our instinctual judgments, beyond race and ethnicity, and anyone of any background can obviously benefit from taking a Snickers moment in all kinds of situation. Universal, non-judgmental concept, easy to talk about and apply in your own life.
So naturally the far left ran with that and stretched it unrecognizably into something that is a hair's breadth away from phrenology.
