Sometimes I think about how life changing having a gps map on your phone is. With pros and cons. Not old enough to have dealt with paper maps but we’d print out routes from map quest to get places. Still looking at sign and streets and needed some sense of direction.

Quite a number of times I help out tourists getting where they need to go. I don’t want to be mean but in many cases there’s a huge sign with clear directions. They’re so conditioned to follow a blip to another blip. No situation awareness.

Old enough that I had a Thomas Guide Map Book under the driver's seat in my car. My dad taught me how to read them long before I ever drove, as I navigated for him when we went places in his International HarvesterTravel-All.
