This was certainly a pick to appease the pro-Hamas wing of the party.
Overall there is an interesting dynamic as both sides are just trying to appeal to their own base more in order to try and expand it.
They clearly do not believe that there is any kind of 'ceiling' for their candidates like the pundits and pollsters do and that there are still many non-voters they can convince.
Instead of trying to make 50 more disgruntled Democrats in Wisconsin change camps back from Biden to Trump, team Trump seems to think there is probably more than 50 Adin Ross followers or golf players that would vote for Trump if they can get them to turn out.
The same thing is happening on the Democratic side. Instead of trying to win back voters that voted Biden but are dissapointed about the high prices or the weak response to the Hamas protests, they focus on finding more Swifties and single cat ladies on ZOOM to twerk with Momala.
