Can someone summarize what the fuck is happening in the UK?

I know it's anti-immigration rioting, but some of these clips from the police response are laughable. They're gonna start extraditing international citizens for...*checks notes*...spamming an online chat window? They're locking people up for posting/re-sharing anti-glurge ("1 like = 1 deport!") on facebook? 

Even if its just posturing, it makes them seem so retarded and ineffectual. "You guys better stop or we're gonna have a conversation with the mods!"

Its partially not fully understanding the inherently international aspects of the internet, partially an over inflated sense of their own importance, and partially as pointed out above that in the UK there is no statutory concept of free speech and people have not only been arrested for posting pretty banal shit on facebook, they've been arrested for posting on a forum where someone else has posted some shit.

But if we can't extradite an american spook for shitty driving that killed someone, we're not gonna get someone extradited for shitposting on twitter.
