You guys ever not listen to like a foundational artist or something in a genre and then do well later after you've heard so much they're kind of boring. I never listened to Far before, knew they were influential, but only just did this week and that's mostly the case but I can definitely hear all the stuff everybody's stolen since.

Took me way too long to get into Iron Maiden because of this.

Melodic death metal is basically Maiden with more distortion and death vocals, but I was well into In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, At the Gates and others before Maiden really struck a chord with me. Now it's funny because MDM just bores me to tears and Maiden is my jam.
