In the original Star Wars there's the scene where Luke and Han are trying to rescue Leia. They get stuck in a corridor and she says "this is some rescue" and takes the blaster from Luke and blows a hole in the wall and says "somebody's got to save our skin."
In the original movie, even though she's a princess, she shows herself as being just as capable if not more capable than the men. This was back in 1977.
Both Star Trek and Star Wars were some of the most progressive shows around, especially at the time. Nobody in this age wants to take responsibility for anything. If the show doesn't get good ratings, not their fault. It's those fans of that progressive show that are keeping women down. What the fuck, don't they ever listen to themselves?
