I dunno Benji. When the EU opened their doors to cheap Russian energy in defiance of the American neo-cons and Putin's 'respectable businessmen' invested in real estate, they also opened the door to corruption, fraud and sabotage. A lot of grass roots movements like the anti-nuclear lobby are fronts for Gazprom. In Germany energy and defense policy was certainly affected by Russian influence at the highest level. 

The Russians were also quite effective to capture the COVID crowd and change the tune to Ukraine vs. Russia. I was very surprised when a leftie anti-vaxxer started to talk to me about how Ukrainians were actually Nazis, as that is what those people were fed through the same channels.

In the US this is less effective because there aren't a lot of ways for the Russians to apply pressure, all they can do is bribe and blackmail people. They can't offer the climate cult an alliance against Nuclear Energy or something. 

I do think it backfired for the Russians in the US though. Trying to stop aid for Ukraine had the opposite effect. 
Not to mention years of hard work to let people understand their feelings about NATO was destroyed when the first bombs hit Kyiv and after 3 days of rape, murder and pillaging the myth about their military might and 'professional army' was shattered.

The likes of Tim Pool and Dave Rubin are certainly part of their 'hybrid' warfare though.
