Chess is separated by sex because there aren't enough girls playing so it gives them a chance to win within their own rankings sorta like the wnba. I dont doubt Lisa Leslie or Caitlin Clark would do aight (bench players, 3 point specialist)playing against men, but they specifically shine playing against women. Same thing with chess chick x or y.
How trans folks fits in is entirely based on your views of trams folks. In my view, a man who has specifically grown up since they were 3 playing chess and then switching to being a woman would have an obvious advantage (through more years of experience and competetion). Girls dont necessarily get the rigourous training regiment as dudes do. So maybe the patriarchy is to blame?
I made all that shit up, so I don't know and ultimately don't care.
