Latinx people winning the league table this year again.

Headline figure is 350 trans people killed, with 73% being in Latin America and the Caribbean. 

Such a genocide, maybe they should ask the pope for confirmation if it’s officially classified as a genocide or not

None of us should be murdered for who we are. We should all be allowed a life lived as ourselves without fear or threat.

Framing it like this just rubs me the wrong way for some reason, like we don’t know they were killed because they were trans, the majority are sex workers which we all know are the most vulnerable people, so who knows why they were actually killed.

I don't know about the methodology used here and RIP to all of them, but I'll just point out that Nex Benedict is listed among the 350 victims, with the cause of death "beating".
