Watched Casablanca yesterday.
Although I had seen bits and pieces I've never watched the full movie. I won't immediately jump on "the best hollywood movie ever" bandwagon but I was surprised by how well it holds up for a film made in 1942. Kind of surreal to watch a movie set in World War 2 made during World War 2. Some scenes were a bit out of place like some waiter slapstick but overall I liked it.
As I watched it unfold I couldn't help but think of a Winston Churchill quote: "Americans will always do the right thing, only after they have tried everything else" which is the perfect summary of the tale.
