Is there some connection between Judaism and rap that would cause this? Am I just off-base due to over representation of the genre in my playlists? Its hard to distill into a single post and I am not as informed even though I worked in radio and hip hop for a while. The idea(as I understand it) is that a lot of the behind the scenes and powers that be (a/r execs ) didnt give rap artist a fair shot and there was a lot if money left on the table. Clive Davis, legendary record producer used have a staggering amount of hip hop artist under Columbia Records and he is Jewish. My assumptions if you feel slighted by your label and the head guy is Jewish you perhaps will corroborate thoses feelings into the already established narrative of bigotry and foolishness.
People are just stupid sometimes and latch on top dumb dumb ideas.
This is my very narrow and woefully underinformed knowledge. I cant speak intelligently on it since I never signed a deal or dealt with any A&Rs in dealing, just artist.
