All this representation talk comes with an asterisk for me. This might be controversial, but I was originally disappointed with Sargon being black. I've seen a lot of talk online shaming people for not liking it, but I thought I'd put in my two cents. In a game full of the names of my friends and family, I ultimately wish that the main character was in line with that and represented "my people". It's not like there's a lot of other representation for Persians out there. This wasn't a massive negative or anything for the game, just an asterisk on an otherwise fantastic effort from Ubisoft. I also do like Sargon's design, especially with the PoP 2008 skin, and I ended up liking Sargon's character development despite not being as grand as some earlier princes'.

fantastic game overall, but I have a few thoughts on your main points:

As an Iranian, born and raised in Iran, I didn't really enjoy the Farsi dub. I found it lacking in terms of delivery and emotion. I started the game with it but eventually switched to the English dub after a few hours. However, this is a very unpopular opinion. I know almost all of my friends played it in Farsi dub and Farsi twitter was filled with praise toward ubisoft.

Regarding your second point, I completely agree. I didn't really connect with Sargon's design, and I wish Ubisoft had chosen a different take on the main character.

And also to reinforce the point you made about the atmosphere and art direction: I think this is the first Prince of Persia game that genuinely feels Persian-inspired, rather than being Arabic or India'. Mount Qaf is absolutely stunning, and it feels great to finally see some authentic representation.

Become okay with being corrected. This is hard. This is imperative.

If you say something and a trans person asks you to say it a different way, use a different word, or not say it at all, then you say THANK YOU. If you have to, ask them to explain why so you can understand and learn. This is not the time to get defensive or offended. You will be uncomfortable, especially us people-pleasers, but allies should be able to handle some discomfort.

Imagine you are floating down a lazy river. If your float bumps into another person or a rock, it simply floats out of the way. The float doesn't stick around for thousands of years trying to erode the rock into sand. Be like a float in a river. Just move a little. It doesn't hurt you to learn or change one word, but it could be really hurtful to a trans person for you to keep using words that cause them dysphoria or deny their true identity that they are working so hard to bring to the surface after a lifetime of suffocating.

I've had to make changes that felt really hard. When Ryan asked me not to use my 20ish years long pet-name for them, that was hard. But it didn't hurt me to change. It was hurting them to hear it. And I bet it was even harder for them to ask me to change that language than it was for me to do as they asked.

A lot of this is about taking yourself out of the "main character" role.

Well, I'm certainly not going to stop challenging the binary. People said things would never change after SWSH sold well, and then we had two of the most ambitious departures from the previous template in Legends Arceus and SV, both of which are very well received for gameplay (albeit not perfect).

One instance does not make a pattern, it makes a dot. Just because SV had jank performance doesn't mean we'll never get a good performance again, especially when the Switch 2 patch which should fix much of the jank is right around the corner.

I've hit a 4 year streak of daily updates on the site...no break, no day when nothing has happened...a couple came close, like 2 or 3 out of 1461...but it still came through. There's always something happening, and nowadays you never know what it is. One day I'm covering the game, the next I'm writing about Hatsune Miku, then a LEGO collaboration, then a new animation...it's always something new and fresh, and that's without me even being able to touch on merchandise
