my mind immediately went to rocket racoon's crass and snarky aggression, which aren't traits i associate with fox. hoping for the best though, a fox is by far the character i'm looking forward to most now that we know about rosalina's role

but i'm really just gonna be there for the easter eggs and visuals. i found the plot, characterization, and music in the first film to be largely awful, but the references flew so fast and free that i was joyfully engaged during every frame of animation for the entire runtime. it's honestly a type of movie experience i'd never had before and imagine i'll never have in general outside of these official nintendo films, so i'm just trying to focus on appreciating how novel and fun that aspect of it is instead of dwelling on missed potential

Got some genuine chuckle moments from me, and it's just so pretty to look at and hear.

Fox was cool, I wish they hadn't revealed that before hand... it would have been a cool surprise to see while watching.

The Sonic movies started out middling and improved with with each subsequent sequel whereas Mario has trended in the complete opposite direction. The mere concept of Sonic outdoing Mario in anything royally triggers Nintendies but that's just the truth, the Sonic films are actually trying to be movies whereas the Mario films are 90 minute sugar rush commercials with no concern for storytelling.
