If we're talking about a reworking of the Constitution the first amendment is absolutely part of that. I agree it shouldn't be abolished completely but it also shouldn't apply to corporations via Citizens United or have blanket protections for hate speech or lying from politicians and those issues are inherent in absolute protections as interpreted by SCOTUS.

We have examples of other countries doing just fine without blanket free speech protections, and ignoring those countries is absolutely US centric.

I’m pretty sure you tend to ignore the controversies on those countries.

Citizens United didn't apply it to corporations, it's always applied to corporations as part of the common law. If it didn't, "freedom of the press" wouldn't mean anything for any media entity you can think of. And as always, remember that the losing position the Obama Administration took in Citizens United is that the federal government can ban books and movies if they criticize politicians, namely white lib Hillary Clinton.

You want the state to be able to arrest politicians it claims are lying? So to completely eliminate any opposition parties? What fucking democracies allow this?

tell me why: wraps its representation in bubble wrap, see it's problematic that it never has anyone mistreat the trans person, it shows that everything works out and there's a minimum of bullying and abuse which is depressing for real trans people

red strings club: sabotaged its own attempt at doing transness right by allowing the player to discover a deadname as a plot point, which is illegal and hurtful

dead by daylight: added a new monster voiced by a trans person, a monster which flips between masculine and feminine representations and looks like a horrific parody of what conservatives think of trans people, the voice actor was dragged and somewhat canceled for having harmed trans people and not thinking about what the fuck they were recording for

cyberpunk: mix it up ad is incredibly transphobic even though it was made by a trans person, and the one trans person in the game calls her truck "the beast" which apparently is something all conservatives call trans people so that's also transphobic

When the Federalists made it Sedition to criticize or mock the President. When the Southern States outlawed abolitionist writing or speaking as offenses against the culture of the South. When states criminalized not saying the Pledge for being an offense against America. When the government outlawed criticizing war or the draft for presenting a "clear and present danger" like "shouting fire in a crowded theater." When the government tried to prosecute a dude for rhetorically saying he'd take up arms against the President to protect himself from oppression. I could go on and on.
