I think that is the actual problem with generative AI compared with cars. If anything, the perception is getting worse rather than better. I’m more surprised tha Nintex is admitting that that the level of people hating it is still crazy high.

I was going to ask what power the President has to rescind a World Cup bid, which is ostensibly a private matter, but then I opened the NYT article:

In March, The Athletic reported that FIFA’s approval for a joint bid by the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica had been pushed back from the FIFA congress on April 30 until much later in the year. This was largely because the White House has yet to provide any of the government guarantees — including commitments on visas, tax exemptions, safety and security — that are deemed obligatory for a World Cup bid to progress.

Yeah trying to help to get an AI project off the ground. The momentum is there to do it now but there is still a lot of ifs and buts. The guy trying to sell it constantly has to respond to news like Claude source code getting leaked or whatever. 

I have to say the signature "slop" style I see a lot these days fucking sucks. All these LinkedIn folks finding out it can do infographics with globo homo illustrations.

So I made a post about how my parents stole over 10K of my money in cash and threatened to kill me and the police said they don't care to do anything and as a man I should get a better job. I only have a month left before I'm forced to leave my apartment. I'm broke and am forced to leave to a shitty motel. My parents even stole my dog and now I have to lose my Guinea pig (gifted to me after I left my parents house by a friend) because the motel doesn't want to accept him. I feel lost because my parents stole so much cash from me and refuse to pay me back unless I stay with them but I don't want to as they abuse me mentally and physically. I feel like my life is taking a turn for the worst and no one cares. Sometimes I wish I had a better childhood but now I'm just waiting to die.



I haven't eaten all day and I reek. Even my car stopped working due to the engine. Just lost all motivation. Can I vent here?

Same as with music, answer is no. There's endless amounts of things to experience already, things that are handcrafted by actual humans, so I rather spend my time experiencing those.

When AI can do the dishes or fold the laundry of game developers (and everyone), I'd be good with that.

Nah. There's no part of my life, especially in video games, where I find generative AI would be helpful. All of it is upsetting.

I've done plenty of thinking about this, and the simple answer is no. If I'm taking the medium at all seriously, as an artform and a legitimate career, AI simply has no place in the process for me.

Weird that other advancements and automation haven't reduced crunch/workload. What makes you confident that GenAI will be different?
