Did she hit her head or something? Does she not recognize where she's posting?

sounds like victim blaming to me, "oh he isn't self-confident enough, sounds like he was asking for it, jogging alone at night wearing those non-self-confident clothes, fuck around and find out"
Nep is just totally lost in the sauce...I don't know if I've seen her this far out from shore on Era maybe ever. She's gonna come out unscathed, I'm sure, but she's getting damn close to getting burned. I'm not really sure if I'd be happy or sad to see that.

Nepenthe wrote:Again, how do you gain self-confidence fully extrinsically? I honestly would like to know because there's some things I wish I was more confident in; if there's a fucking pill or something out there I can take to gain that, point it to me.

Our TERF queen rises!
Thank you for your service!

is it just without context, did she say something about thin people and someone replied "you're not even fat" and she had to prove them wrong
The thread being "Hey maybe we shouldn't bodyshame" and Nep's counterargument being "But we in the hood do that though you don't wanna oppress me do you? Go to therapy white boy" is actually fucking hilarious I sometimes cant believe that place is real.

We're literally in this thread arguing that body shaming is ok, so long as it's done from the left, as long as it's punching up. Never mind that the whole point of being against body shaming is that when we throw those barbs at the people we hate, we inadvertently tell our allies and friends that we don't actually give a shit about them or their problems.

I have a medical condition that requires me to take medication that thins out my hair. I've been on said medication since I was 21. When I first found out, I kinda freaked out. Imagine being a 21 and looking in the mirror and all of a sudden you're not really you anymore. It took a long fucking time to come to terms with the fact that my options were literally keep my hair or just straight up bleed to death. Even now it's a bit of a sore spot for me, not because I'm bothered by the thinned out hair, but because it's just a reminder that I had to give up a huge part of my future as a result of my condition.

I say all this to say this: you don't know what someone else is going through. You don't know what might be the straw the breaks the camels' back. Arguing that it's perfectly fine to shame people for their appearance because you're doing it from the left or punching up or whatever justification you come up with misses the point of being against body shaming entirely. It's about not being an asshole. It's about understanding that everyone has their own struggles and shit they are going through and that what we say can affect the people around us, even if we don't mean for it to do so.

It's about understanding that your off-hand comment that you didn't aim at someone, well, it might just ruin their day at best.
Of course the thread got closed, Nep always must get the last laugh before the inevitable ban wave that happens tomorrow.

B-Dubs acting like he's completely fucking powerless to stop this. You're the damn "General Manager." You have the most power out of everyone there to change things. For a start:

- Demod Nep
- Ban bodyshaming, and don't make fucking carve outs for "punching up"
- Start banning people, yes even the "prominent" ones, for violating point 2

That's part of what makes the thread so fun. She keeps talking about how being short and hearing short jokes don't bother her, but like...it's different for men and women. And since you can't say that she's a woman, you simply can't even have the conversation at all.

I also really enjoyed her leveraging her mean-spirited and aggressive behavior to...indict all black people and also take credit for RDCworld???

Nepenthe wrote:I also return to the belief that mockery is not just cathartic and an art in some respects, but can also reinforce the struggles and temper sensitivity in those who are oppressed and are inherently part of these cultures. People keep insisting on this truism that jokes aimed at a person's appearance hurt everyone in the crossfire, but is that really true when minorities make fun of each other all the time in ways that directly target their own endemic features? Step into a Black elementary school and you will hear Black children going the fuck in on someone's darkness or lightness in skin color, their hair texture, their height (whether they're tall or short!); nothing is off limits. This level of humor and wit is then turned right back around against the culture that oppresses us, or even becomes part of said culture. A lot of y'all seem to enjoy Black Twitter, Black YouTubers like RDCWorld, etc., but never really asked where the humor comes from and why the fuck we're so funny. It's because we practiced that shit on each other lol.
Oh we know why you're funny nep. You're The Bore's favorite comedienne!
