So it's not even a case of Capcom asking one of their artists to make some cool art for the game, and they ended up making something really cheesecakey and Capcom used that. They specifically seeked out an artist specializing in erotic art. Like when they got Bastard!! mangaka Kazushi Hagiwara to do clear art for SF5's arcade mode. Heck, I wouldn't surprised if they also got Hagiwara to make art for SF6.

I kind of have no idea what Gamerz find attractive. Cammy is attractive, there's actually an OnlyFans model that I know that looks almost exactly like her and she's not as "endowed with cake" the way Capcom has her drawn LOL. The way she gets egregiously sexed up isn't though since she never looks like a realistic woman. Juri is basically Jolyne from Jojo, but handled with a lot less respect. Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West is stacked with attractive and realistic looking women, same with Last of Us 2, but the realism and how they aren't fetishized just seems to bake my mind.

Most 'modern' characters are one dimensional and boring, they don't get challenged in any way and they don't stand out in any way. You can easily swap them around between games. Horizon would be the exact same game without Aloy. Her character adds very little to the story or setting and could look like any generic NPC. The biggest offenders of this are probably games like Forza and Need for Speed with bland boring player characters to select.

The SF6 characters look the way they do because of their heritage, training or background. They have distinct personalities that are amplified by their appearance. Cammys booty is part of the game. The crowd gasps at it, her thick thighs break the necks of her opponents. She looks fit and her body is a weapon. Some characters use brute force, others use seduction and then go in for the kill. It's all part of their character and fighting style. Her character wouldn't be as interesting if Cammy didn't have those looks.

Aloy added a lot to Horizon - so much, in fact, that she made me quit the game. She's a self-righteous, bigoted asshole. Which would be fine if the writers acknowledged the fact and used it as a basis for character development, but they clearly didn't even realize. Which isn't surprising, the writing in HZD is a complete trash fire. I can deal with inconsistent, bland, generic or stupid, but the writing in this game managed to be outright insulting.

What is always funny to me about this stuff that it's like a game of telephone where people keep changing little details every time they hear it. Like if you actually look at one of the complaints from back then the problem isn't Rowling saying that skinwalkers aren't real (which she also isn't, she says skinwalkers are misunderstood magic users), it's about taking native believes into a fantasy realm which some believe trivializes their believes.
