Vivek is a piece of shit with no basic understanding of any topic discussed last night, but he clearly won the debate. Prob spoke more than anyone, constantly drove discussions, and got his name out there. Very-online young right wingers are gonna love his shit. Whether they hold any sway in Iowa is another matter. I'd still expect his numbers to rise. 

Pence spoke a lot and did exactly what you'd need to do to garner support if most of the base didn't consider you a traitor. Maybe he doesn't gain support however I'm not seeing enough people point out the obvious: him and Vivek did an amazing job driving that debate and sidelining DeSantis. I'm seeing conservatives say DeSantis took no damage, made no mistakes etc. That's the type of argument you make about a FRONT RUNNER. Not a guy down 40 points.

Last night made it clear...this is Trump's party. Those who dance to his tune (Vivek) will stay around. Those who denigrate him (Asa, Christie) will be gone in late January or February next year.

The way I think about it...nobody is talking about the debate now. For all the attempts by DeSantis people to claim no one watched the Tucker vid...sure I'll give you that, even though it's not true. Take out the Tucker interview and Trump still won the weekend lmao. Most dominate factor at the debate without being there, and the entire internet shut down to marvel at his mugshot and herald his return to twitter. 

And the funny thing is that he doesn't have to go to any of the debates. He's getting free coverage no matter what. Meanwhile at some point, someone is gonna land a blow on DeSantis and it won't be pretty.

Trump and the Hood is not just an internet thing anymore either, he took his motorcade through the hood in Atlanta and the folks living there came out to cheer him on.

He's forging a very difficult path to an electoral victory though that could cost him "establishment" Republicans and even evangelicals.
The big question will be if Trump pivots back to a somewhat 'normal' Republican platform after the primary like he did in 2020 or if he double downs on the current more risky path.

The debate response and polling was actually decent for DeSantis. At least the conservative base watching FoxNews seemed to have liked him and Nikki Haley the most.

Trump is drifting into unknown territory. Hard to say if "street cred" and mugshot memes translate to overwhelming victories in GOP primaries still months away.
