I truly get the anti AI sentiment, which some of his own works have explored as themes, and sure critique them. Call him out on them specifically but this threads absolutist / reductive and quite personal trashing / slurring the entire careers of anyone who touches AI does very little to further the argument.



Some of my friends have remarked on some things they find cool with AI, albeit whilst still being worried about job threats etc.

I saw someone said in chat that he was misinformed on what he was talking about in reference to trans people this week. I agree and I don't hold it against him. I just wanted to leave an argument here.
Hasan said "trans people don't think they can change their sex unless they're memeing!" That is untrue. There are growing number of trans people who do hold this belief for a simple reason through the process of medical transition, transsexual, people changed their bodies in multiple ways that we use to categorize sex.

I wonder how often progressives just dismiss stuff as "jokes" because the reality just sounds too absurd.

The main thing they (not Era, but the people they repeat) argue is that primary sex characteristics (gametes, uterus, prostate etc.) have nothing to do with sex because nobody actually looks at that, instead we "determine" sex based off of secondary sexual characteristics (boobs, dicks, etc.) and therefore if you change these you're changing your sex.
