Please, semi-literate american whose life experience comes in transparent mylar bags, tell me about these working conditions that need addressing?

For initial point of reference:

• Statutory national minimum wage of £11.44 per hour
  
• Statutory minimum sick pay for up to 28 weeks sick in a year
  
• Statutory 28 days paid holiday a year
  
• Statutory health and safety regulations and mandatory health and safety training and certification for employers to ensure compliance
  

Also just general other tangential qualities like being able to claim unemployment without ever having actually had a job to pay into it, housing for people who cant afford their own housing, benefits paid as actual money not as 'food stamps' or whatever, free medical cover for the entire population etc.
You're also - as an employer - not legally permitted to request a doctors sick note for a sick leave of less than 3 consecutive working days

Always amuses me watching these American leftists try to critique actual socially progressive nations and to criticise the nominally "conservative" parties when they are usually far more progressive than the US democrats.

I have to say, these days folks call in sick more often and have far less immunity.

During COVID it sort of became the norm to stay indoors with mild flu/cold symptoms which means that when people do get the flu now they usually end up getting pneumonia or stomach aches as well. I mostly tell my co-workers and interns to be alert when experiencing new symptoms. Like if for example you seldom get headaches but suddenly you get migraines or you never have heart problems and suddenly your chest hurts. Otherwise a bit of a running nose is just your body cleaning out some stuff. I also notice that despite all their green shit the zoomers barely eat any fruits like actual apples, bananas, pears, oranges and all that. It's all processed sludge, "healthy" smoothies and meat replacements, can't be good for your stomach.

If I would call in sick everytime I don't feel well in the morning because of my asthma, I probably wouldn't leave the house very often. 
I mostly just power through it unless I have a fever. A hot shower, bit of sun, some freshly baked croissants, orange juice and clean air usually does wonders.

Well all I know is the party I've been a member of since I was in school will be elected shortly and all will be fine and nobody will be going to DWP for sick notes, because people like me actually put some effort in and compromised a bit to get an electable party together with a good retail offer to the public. It's pretty simple to not criminalize homeless folks. And if one cares about homeless folks, no one should want this. It makes it harder for organizations to find homeless folks to offer services, burdens them with debt they can't pay which in turn means they'll end up back in jail, and is just straight up cruel.

It frustrates me so much that women can be screaming about social issues for years, but the moment a YouTuber white snarky/critical man says the same thing, THEN it gets attention and the man gets most of the credit.

As someone who grew up not realizing I was a woman, being around men was horrible, constantly verbally and physically bullied, my opinions considered less valid and just feeling utterly miserable, resulting in years of trust issues, depression and fear being around lots of men in public. I don't like being flittered with by men and yes I know their are many good men online and kind men on ERA, my experience is that most men online are right wing trash. To be blunt, a lot of the rebuttals to these kind of arguments I've seen when women I've met said this (which was usually about having bad experiences, being a lesbian or wlw) often come across as shallow gotchas like "Oh so you don't need your co-workers AYE! HA AH HA!!!", shitty misogyny bullying women into dating/marrying toxic men like in discussion of South Korea or men using it as an excuse to scream about how much the hate feminism.

These dudes look up the weirdest shit and then bitch about it.

One thing I do notice whenever this game is mentioned in a thread is that there seem to be two parallel threads happening at the same time. One thread is uncritically saying "nice! day one, can't wait" and the other is saying "i feel insane, the director/writer of this game and cofounder of the studio is a massive gamergater" and it does make me wonder what universe the former thread is taking place in - I just wouldn't be able to ignore this or separate the (heavily intertwined, as much as people would like to deny it) art from the artist enough to enjoy a title by the guy.

It's a conspiracy theory that I don't really believe, but my first reaction is always to wonder if the people in the first camp are astroturfing, people who work for the studio or something. That's very likely not the case, especially since the couple times I've clicked through to look at other threads/posts there has been a healthy history of just chatting in F1 threads or talking about smash.

Some people really do just have blinders on, and don't give a damn about marginalized people. It truly sucks.
