I'm annoyed by this mindset where someone arrogantly declares that of course they'll announce some feature that will benefit the customer when in reality there's zero indication of this happening. They know they can't defend the current situation so they just imagine a good guy Sony who will make up for it another way. An absolutely pointless argument and of course something he will never mention again if it turns out that Sony doesn't provide any additional features.
It's not impossible that Sony will add some digital features but at this moment, right now, there's just no real reason to assume it will happen. I've seen the exact same guys make the same argument when Sony raised PS+ prices or game prices.

We can literally listen to millions of songs in Apple Music for a few bucks each month, I don't really care about my old iTunes songs anymore. They got replaced by a service that's more convenient and cheaper.

And when it comes to movies, I have probably saved thousands by buying them via iTunes. There are regular deals every day / week in the European iTunes Store, where you can get countless top movies in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for 3.99 €. And if you bought HD versions of those movies before, you automatically get free 4K upgrades when they get released, I don't have to buy them again like I had to do when going from DVD to Blu-ray to UHD Blu-ray.

This is just incredible value, and yes, that's the future I want.

They are a couple of old conspiracy theory grifters that have a right wing cult. They claim to do media deconstruction but constantly lie and misrepresent the truth. Horribly racist. They will contort themselves to absurd degrees to defend Trump. Hate science. They have very similar strategies to Alex when it comes to bullshittery. I think Dan and Jordan could transition to them well. And as NA is a two man show there is an interesting dynamic for the guys to pick apart.

Adam is a failed MTV VJ. John is a failed tech writer. I look forward to the day they face repercussions for all their hateful slander.

I second the motion: No Agenda is basically Info Wars Lite, for retirees, housewives, and others who find Alex a bit too much...if Alex ever goes dark, there is a lot for Dan & Jordan to discuss, over at No Agenda.

I was a long time NA listener until around the 2016 election. They’ve really gone full on right-wingnut talking points whereas in the years before Trump’s election they actually did do some somewhat insightful media deconstruction from a fairly centrist POV. They’d give equal derision to both sides of the aisle and all networks including FoxNews.

The shift to far-right is totally a response to their current audience of donors. JCD and Adam even used to make fun of Alex.

So, how did this happen? No Agenda used to primarily get their US listeners from JCD’s almost weekly appearances on This Week in Tech (Leo Laporte’s primary podcast). Some listeners came from Adam’s inexplicable celebrity in the Netherlands, but most were TWiT listeners. That’s how I found the show. Adam got on TWiT a few times, but Leo banned Adam after Adam turned out to be a moon landing truther on one TWiT episode.

JCD continued to plug NA on TWiT, feeding their new listener funnel. Naturally, since the funnel was coming from TWiT, most the listeners were techies, geeks, and nerds. And the NA topics reflected this. People donating with shout out notes would talk about tech things and media messaging.

Then JCD had a falling out with Leo, I forget over what, and got banned from TWiT. This was a little before Trump’s nomination, I think. So their listeners and donations started to take a dive.

Enter Infowars.

Adam got an appearance or two on the Alex Jones show and plugged No Agenda. The listener profile changed. The shout out letters with donations started sounding like FoxNews and Infowars listeners. Old long-time listeners like myself noticed they no longer tried to do impartial media deconstruction. They began to get in lock-step with the right-wing information ecosystem and began only being critical of democrats and the left, while giving a pass and even defending Trump, his administration, and other right-Wing figures from around the world.

At this point, their only listeners seem to come from Infowars and similar places. And they’re stuck in their grift because those are their donors and they need to entertain that fan base to keep the weekly donations coming in enough to make it worth their time.

TL;DR: their audience changed from tech-dweebs to Infowarriors because JCD pissed off Leo Laporte and Adam got on Infowars. They’ve always been a little misogynistic and off-color with jokes, but that shifted to straight up masks-off after Trump’s ascendency and the demographic change of their subscribers.
