Like what is this background supposed to be conveying at all? It doesn't say "these are my interests" to me because there's so little of everything. It's telling me "here are some superficial but ultimately irrelevant things you should pretend are my devoted personality since I don't actually have one."

And yes, this matters, because I'm usually so dulled into boredom by the lowbrow content that I start examining their rooms in detail. Really, any post of any online "intellectual" where they show their "workstation" triggers this reflex. Asmongold's living in actual trash has a respectful honesty to it. There's a trans Twitter influencer, now on Bluesky, who used to post proud pictures of their desk and bookshelf and I loved it because you could see the additional dust with each update. They had "plushies" that were incredibly caked in dust. And they didn't see it, at all, they would just post "look at Yoshi!" and his green has faded from how much dust is on him. Just incredible content.

I went to that channel to see how long that woke 1 video is (only 16 minutes!) and here's a video from a couple years ago of "Mildred" when she turned 39:

Should actually cause him dysphoria considering that female youtubers tend to be better at this. Like, Jenny Nicholson redecorates her room for every video.

Real talk, for me it was alien to me the idea that you should dust off your stuff because my parents never bothered to do it (and sleep all day after work Willam ).

Dust accumulating on consumer goods is a product of capitalism, it didn't exist in Indigenous societies. By dialectics we can see that capitalism, by creating dust, also creates another commodity for capitalists to sell and workers to be exploited by working to create: dust cloths. By abolishing capitalism and ceasing growth we can remake society without dust in the first place. And more importantly we can eliminate the hierarchical status by those privileged enough (largely white and cis) to remove dust from their environs.
