Always makes me feel like some boomer but truly what is the value of discord. It's like some giant group chat with hundreds if not thousands of people. And say I'm in the "Gaming news" channel and want to talk about a new trailer for Tomb Raider, I now have to sift through all the messages of people talking about GTA, Call of Duty, Zelda remake, Memes etc. etc

Just imagine every gaming thread on Resetera shoved into 3-4 channels. That has been my experience with discord so far

in that case the expected use case of discord is that you are already in an entirely different discord server dedicated to talking about tomb raider

servers are themselves like "subforums/subreddits" and channels are like "threads," I guess

and because you love tomb raider so much you're in 5 different discords for it including the modding one which has a more active general chat for some reason and also the two that are at each other's throats and hate each other because one of them is "run by chuds" and the other has a permanent rainbow baked into its server icon
